Little World

Tonight, or shall I say this morning, I cannot sleep for an entirely different reason. My little boy and I are sick. Thankfully he is feeling better and is resting well. I have been working for about a week and a half as a freelance grant writer. It is just a few hours a week, but it has been good for my soul...and my self-esteem. I start classes again next week. I will probably be thankful for my insomnia trying to get all the work completed and submitted. I am such a total dork. I spent all day Saturday, when I wasn't looking for a place to live, working on my School Orientation. Oh well, at least my mind was on something positive for a while.

I found a nice place for Nekoda and I to live for a few years. It is a 2 bedroom/1 bath duplex in the Hillcrest area. There is a neat little park for Nekoda to play. I don't know if they will let me rent because of my 2 cats and dog. There is no fence, so Lily (the spoiled Basset Hound) will have to be put on a yard stake when I put her out to potty. She has hit the lazy stage and mainly sleeps all day, when Nekoda isn't aggravating her. I have no idea how he became so anwry (Does anyone know the correct spelling of this word?). No comments from my family.

I am so grateful for all of the blessings in my life. When Nekoda was sick with a 103.5 fever, fear set in again. Every night I try to pray with Nekoda. We thank God for Mommy and Daddy and pray that God keeps Nekoda safe. I am struggling with the decision to get Nekoda the H1N1 vaccine. Some reports have linked it to paralysis. But I want him to be safe from the virus too. I will pray on the issue. The most important thing in my life (along with God) is my baby boy.

I guess I'll check the discussion area in my class orientation before I attempt sleep again. Can you believe one of my fellow students has never heard of the Arkansas Razorbacks and "calling the hogs?" I posted "Woo Pig Sooie" in my introductions and he thought I was calling him to the trough. The "little world" I live in has no choice but to expand.

  1. I have heard some bad things about he H1N1 vaccine. Sounds like they rushed to make it too quickly and haven't tested it as thoroughly as they should have and usually do. I am not getting them for my kids, of course, it's a decision for each parent to make on their own! Good luck!

  2. lol, I'm sorry, but what you posted about the fellow student thinking you were calling him to the trough had me laughing so hard I almost fell out of my chair! I needed that, thanks Kelli!
