The question for the day is how to move forward when your heart refuses to let go? The only answer I can come up with is "I don't know". For some reason what I tell my mind doesn't resonant with my heart. Or maybe it is my mind that is the culprit. You see for the last several nights I awake from my dreams in a state of bewilderment. In my dreams, the man I have loved for so long is right next to me. It takes me a few moments to get my bearings when I finally awake from slumber.
I am learning about different therapy techniques in my grief and bereavement class. One technique is to explore the client's dreams with them. Analyzing my own dreams leads me to the conclusion that I am in a state of yearning. I don't want to be, but I am...at least when I dream at night. It would almost be easier if I didn't remember my dreams. However, I don't think anything about this experience is meant to be easy.
On a more positive note, I have a job interview this morning. It is a part-time position working in the office of a counseling practice. I think it would be a good fit for me while I work on my counseling degree. My hope is to get my "foot in the door" as the cliche goes. I am nervous. I have felt like a failure for so long; I don't want to be a disappointment anymore. But I know to not try would be the real failing attribute.
I guess I will try to get a few more hours of sleep. I am hoping my dreams for this morning will consist of good answers to interview questions.
